Experience an evening where melody meets poetry, where experimental sounds blend with classic rock, and where four unique artists come together for one unmissable night at La Violette Società 57.

LEIN SANGSTER

East London-via-Liverpool singer-songwriter Lein Sangster presents their highly anticipated solo debut album In Spite of Everything, The Stars. This collection of beautifully crafted and elegant pop laments is woven with heartfelt passion, effortless melody and soaring hooks that move from the melancholic to the celebratory.

Following fronting Scouse 80's legends Kit and releasing acclaimed albums under Bad Anorak 404, Lien’s debut solo offering has been a long time coming. The album effortlessly weaves lush hues of jazz, folk, soul, R&B and even Spaghetti Western and mariachi inspired tones.

Recorded partly at Lein’s home studio in Liverpool and at the city's analogue dream Whitewood Studios, In Spite of Everything, The Stars is free of digital sheen. This is an album that sounds immediately like a lost classic - warm and intimate, as if Lein were sat next to you sharing their most personal thoughts and experiences. With songs that explore themes of grief, queer identity, poverty and hope, Sangster brings characters and their tales to life with blinding technicolour storytelling.

RUINS

Alt-pop duo Ruins - Lloyd Rock (vocals & drums) and Nik Kavanagh (bass & synth) - deliver a signature blend of moody melodic basslines, shimmering synth and broken beats overlaid with soaring, falsetto vocals.

"At this moment in time there is no-one who sounds like us, we're forerunners of something unique and new - we deliver the unexpected," says Lloyd. Their sound has been described as "a delectable mix of soul and underground, that beautiful falsetto vocal over a myriad of soundscapes, from post-modern to synth to even subtle Americana."

Following the release of Sample Size in 2018, Ruins have grown from strength to strength, gaining a reputation as a must-see live act with cult-like appreciation within the Merseyside music scene. They've supported Liverpool legends China Crisis on their nationwide tour and opened for Grammy Award-winning A Flock of Seagulls on their 40th Anniversary world tour.

For fans of Cocteau Twins, New Order, Sleaford Mods and The Cure.

THE KEYS

Dynamic rock 'n' roll quartet The Keys hail from Liverpool, where the echoes of musical legends inspire their sound. Formed in 2019 by Jacob Emanuel and Jack Charnock, this four-piece draws major influence from iconic 60s rock bands while infusing the raw energy of 90s Britpop with a blend of catchy melodies and powerful riffs.

The Keys are on a mission to revive the spirit of classic rock for a new generation, channeling the vibrant energy of their hometown into every note. They aim to make their mark on the music scene with their infectious enthusiasm and commitment to the timeless power of rock 'n' roll.

JAY FARLEY

Award-winning filmmaker, digital artist, performer and poet Jay Farley brings their powerful voice to the stage. This non-binary, neurodivergent artist discovered their identity in 2022 at age 48, a profound moment that unlocked their voice as a performer and poet.

Farley's work has garnered significant recognition, including their award-winning piece 'I Wish I'd Won the Miners' Strike', published in the Creative Futures Writers' Award 2022 anthology How It Started. Their poetry appears in the Queer Icons anthology, Sparks, Hot Poets anthology, and is illustrated in Woop Woop magazine.

Their debut poetry collection A [Cupboard] Full of Tomboys was created under the mentorship of T.S. Eliot Award winner Joelle Taylor and published by Broken Sleep Books. Farley's work resonates with authenticity and raw emotional power, exploring themes of identity, belonging and the courage to live one's truth.
