La Violette Società's Final Bow

Back in March 2016, we started La Violette Società with a simple, quietly revolutionary concept: an event with no headliners, where every artist receives equal billing, equal stage time and an equal cut of the profits. It was our response to the tired, hierarchical gig formula - a system that often felt more like a capitalist exercise than a celebration of art. We wanted to create a small, temporary utopia where audiences arrived for one act and left raving about another, where the 7pm slot held as much magic as the 10pm one.

Looking back now, I think we accomplished everything we set out to do, and more. And that success is down to a small handful of people. A special mention must go to PJ Smith, who has been the driving force from the very beginning, his determination and inspiration turning a vague idea into a beautiful, functioning reality. And to Pascal Blua, whose ten years of beautiful artwork gave the Società its visual soul, defining its spirit with elegance, colour and his own brand of quiet brilliance.

And so, after what will be exactly ten years, the time has come to bring this beautiful experiment to a close.

We will be hosting four final Società events, culminating in our 10th anniversary show in March 2026, which will be our very last.

   The final dates are:

  • Tuesday, 30th September 2025

  • November 2025 (Date TBC)

  • January 2026 (Date TBC)

  • March 2026 (The 10th Anniversary & Final Ever Società)

We are not seeing this as an ending, but as a passing of the baton. The idea that another world is possible has been proven. Now it's time for new projects and for others to carry that spirit forward.

We want to thank every single artist who has graced our stage and every one of you who has shown up, paid attention, and trusted in the magic of the unknown. These final four shows will be a celebration of everything we've built together. We would love for you to be there with us as we bring it to a close.

Tickets for our next event on Tuesday, 30th September are available now.
